Heck of a job, Carson City GOP

Looks like the Carson City GOP didn't file the paperwork for one of their two caucus sites for Saturday, and now they have to move it at the last minute.

But seriously folks, I'm surprised there hasn't been more of this stuff. These caucuses, especially on the Democrats' side, are very complicated to put together. They have never done anything on this scale before, and it's mostly put together by volunteers.

Let's hope this is the only glitch.

UPDATE: Oops, I spoke too soon. Looks like there is more chaos on the GOP side just north of us in Storey County.

Whatever GOP problems-- Dems furious at Hillary, almost at war

As chaotic as things may be for the GOP, the Democrats are on the verge of declaring total war against each other. Apparently, Hillary Clinton's teacher's union brought this lawsuit to try to force the caucus stations in the casinos to close, to prevent the Culinary Workers from voting (since they endorsed Obama) but to allow Clinton's supporters to vote. Bill Clinton was even talking up the lawsuit recently!

I'm an Independent w/o a dog in this fight, but what transparently utter bulls**t this is by the Clinton campaign. The Culinary Workers have to put in on long hours on Saturday while the rest of us are watching football or mowing the lawn, of course their right to vote should be facilitated. And besides, anyone (not just the Culinary Workers) can vote in those stations. And these rules were agreed upon back in March of 2007, including by Hillary and the teachers' union, yet it's only now, one week before the caucus after Hillary loses the endorsement that she thought she'd inherited at birth, that the suit comes about?

I thought Hillary was OK before this, but I will never vote for the Clintons. Their tactics, all the maudlin crap they bring to the national discourse, this whole dynasty fiasco, it's so fundamentally against such basic civic virtues and good sense, that I don't know where to begin.

I have many Democratic friends, but they are utterly vitriolic against Hillary. Absolutely, thoroughly despise the Clintons. And these are Democrats!

If the Republicans are even mildly intelligent, then they'll nominate John McCain, because most of these very angry Democrats will vote for McCain if he's nominated.

To be honest, I don't blame them. I don't see how anyone could vote for Hillary in the midst of this filth that masquerades for campaigning.
